Dear Lock & Lock,

I just wanted to say thank you for a terrific product.

Last weekend, while out at our Dock in Winthrop Harbor, IL on Lake Michigan, we experienced a storm like never before.

Getting ready for the 4th of July weekend I spent several days cooking and preparing, and put all this yummy food into various containers.  The Italian Sausage in a red sauce I stored in your 4.2 Qt Lock & lock container.  Upon arrival to the harbor, I placed all of this prepared, and fresh food into a six foot long cooler I use as an extra “ice box” on busy weekends.  The food, three blocks of ice, and it is a terrific side fridge.

A storm blew into the harbor, and at the buoy outside our harbor, winds were recorded at 102 MPH and 17 foot waves.  Needless to say, my “side fridge’ was gone and of course ALL the food I spent three days preparing gone with it.

The next day, suddenly a fellow boater came over and said, “hey, is this some of your food”?  He handed me my 4.2 qt Lock 7 lock container with the Italian Sausage.  The container was in the water, under water, and through some serious turbulence yet intact, STILL SEALED, and useable!!!!!!!!!!!!! 

Your containers are AWESOME!!  It helped me save the weekend allowing me to serve some homemade food that our guests so enjoy.

So THANKS LOCK & LOCK!!  Great product, I am now your walking billboard for life!

Lock&Lock at Koreandramas.net Get-together 2011

Last weekend, Lock&Lock USA (http://LocknLockPlace.com) was fortunate enought to be invited to Koreandramas.net(한국무리)'s annual get-together held in Mt. Laurel, NJ (near Philadelphia) along with Korea Tourism Organization and Dramafever. Everyone present at the gathering got Lock&Lock Plastic Food Container Sets (See picture below) and couldn't be happier.

Lock&Lock products are featured in almost every Korean drama these days (Maybe with the exception of historical dramas... Can you imagine Daejoyoung or Wang Guhn brings a Lock&Lock lunch box when he goes to the battle field ???) Anyway, we had some trivias on Korean dramas that showed Lock&Lock products as PPL. Those who were better prepared won their prizes! (Small Lock&Lock plastic containers)

Lock&Lock Boroseal II – major success in the red dot award: product design 2011

Lock&Lock Glass Euro (Boroseal II) from Lock&Lock Co.,Ltd. clearly convinced the judges: in the red dot design award, one of the most renowned international product competitions, Lock&Lock Glass Euro (Boroseal II) series has now been awarded the “red dot” seal of quality for high design quality by the jury with its panel of highly respected experts. More than 1,000 guests from the world of design, industry, society and media will celebrate the winners of the red dot design award on 4 July 2011, which traditionally takes place in Essen’s opera house, Aalto Theater. Lock&Lock Glass Euro (Boroseal II) will then be put on public display during a four-week special exhibition in the red dot design museum.
Lock&Lock Glass Euro (Boroseal II) made of heat resistant borosilicate glass is designed to be used in oven and microwave, on table and even in freezer safely and conveniently. Unlike normal or tempered glassware, this product can withstand sudden change in temperature, thus it could be used not only in a refrigerator, a microwave and a dishwasher but also in a 400°C oven. And differentiated from normal glass bakeware, this product is air-tight and liquid-tight with the unique 4-side locking system, so it keeps food fresh longer. In addition to that function, attractive scalloped lid adds elegant style. Its transparent glass base makes it easy to see contents in the refrigerator. This product’s borosilicate glass body is salt, oxidation, stain and odor resistant.

This potential is increased several times over by the targeted use of our renowned design award”, says Professor Dr. Peter Zec, the initiator of the red dot design award. This year, designers and companies from 60 countries entered 4,433 products in the red dot award: product design.

With in excess of 1,500 products spread over an area of more than 4,000 m2, the red dot design museum houses the largest permanent exhibition of contemporary design worldwide.

It breaks down into the three disciplines ‘red dot award: product design’, ‘red dot award: communication design’ and ‘red dot award: design concept’.
